| SHOOTERS OF THE MONTH | | | This month's featured shooters are good friends of ours.
On the left is Tom Jarrell, aka"Drycreek Trampas" from Beckley,West Virginia. Trampas has been shooting for 5 years and shoots the 49er class.
On the right is Jerry Cumby, aka"Railtown Kid" from Bluefield,West Virginia. Jerry has been shooting for 12 years and shoots the Modern class.
I engraved Tom's gun a few years back at MuleCamp. I recently engraved Jerry's rifle at the Northeast Regionals in Maryland. Both boys are members of the Railtown Rowdys in southern W.Va. |
| Jerry's buttstock engraving | | | Jerry chose this excellent graphic to match his alias.
The results were striking. Nice choice ,if I may say so myself. |
| Jerry's forearm engraving | | | I took the same train graphic, shrunk it down, then surrounded it with checkering. It was engraved on both sides of the forearm.I also checkered the pistol grip area of the rifle with just the checkering. |
| The finished rifle | | | As you can see,Jerry is just "gushin" with joy ! |
| Mr." CHARISMA " | | | Now this guy....What a character! Tom...aka "Trampas", is one of a kind. Tom and I "occasionally" enjoy a beer or three and lately Trampas has taught me the fine art of selecting and enjoying Bleu cheese along with our "occasional" beers.
Tom has been known to dress a bit flamboyant at the shoots with his fancy spurs, fancy guns and unique outerwear. And if you think he dresses to kill, you 'aught ta' see his lovely wife Sue, aka "Calamity Sue". Even tho Tom and I are good friends we occasionally argue over just what the hell " rank points " are. Not that I even have a clue as I have never shot before. Now Tom......He says he don't give a hoot about placin' in the top three at any given shoot 'cause he don't even try....just shoots to have fun. Now I know better than that. He's a gamer in disguise! Right Tommy boy? Tom and I kid each other a lot... He calls me a dumb Yankee ( 'cause I'm from Jersey ) and I call him a stupid hillbilly mo fo. |
| Barbed wire forearm | | | I did this work on Tom's rifle several years ago. It still looks great. The metal engraving was done by Jim Downing from Missouri |
